Senior Front-End Engineer

Mark seldom settles for "this is the way we've always done it." He's always looking for ways to expand his knowledge and to share what he knows.

Mark, Senior Front-End Engineer

Mark brings many skills and talents to the table and, while he’s at it, he may even give some thought to re-engineering the table itself in case it could be improved in both form and function. He’s that rare blend of technology and creativity, always willing to look at each process with a critical eye and never losing focus on good UX (User Experience).

More than just a “front end guy,” though he is, of course, well-versed in the usual suspects like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, Mark is passionate about human-centered design and is constantly adding to his foundation of technical skills. He is also a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer. Always a team player, he enjoys bridging the gap between different teams/individuals who may not have made a connection otherwise. Mark describes himself as a creative problem-solver who isn’t afraid to push boundaries when it brings the best solution into the light.

Mark hails from Winchester, Virginia, living just far enough from the nation’s capital to avoid the traffic but close enough to catch a concert at one of DC’s famed venues. He loves live music; he and his wife have been known to plan vacations around the touring schedules of favorite bands. When he’s not working, he’s busy navigating the daunting task of parenting a teenage daughter. He co-hosts a radio show for gamers, but don’t ask him about it because he hates the sound of his own voice.  Mark is also involved in a VR project for a university, developing an immersive training program.

Random trivia: Mark comes from a long line of coconut cake aficionados and swears there is nothing more sublime than coconut cake.
