FYIN Partners with the VFW to Spread Holiday Cheer

On December 14th, members of the FYIN team joined the 15th Annual Ron Davies Memorial VFW Airlift on a deeply meaningful mission. The annual airlift aims to deliver food, toiletries, and toys to veterans and families in need across the Centennial State.

Over 20 volunteer pilots donated their time and fuel costs to participate in this year's air drop, delivering food and gifts to VFW posts throughout the state. Our team was matched with the VFW post in Cortez and was honored to carry supplies to that region.

Holiday Spirit in Action

More About the Mission

Our flight crew of Santa's helpers, decked out in festive holiday gear, took to the skies to deliver holiday cargo to veterans and their families.

The Ron Davies Memorial VFW Airlift event was organized in partnership with the Colorado Aviation Business Association (CABA) and Tallgrass. Independence Aviation served as a hub for the planes that were loaded with goodies.

This year's goal for the airlift was to collect and distribute 8,000 pounds of food and supplies. However, that goal was easily surpassed, and over 12,000 pounds of cargo were distributed on Sunday.

Giving Back

Giving Back

Santa's high-tech sleigh was filled with food and gifts. Our team met VFW volunteers in Cortez to unload the much-needed supplies. The VFW will then distribute the holiday blessings to veterans and families in the area.

As an agency based in Denver, helping Coloradans in need was a welcome opportunity for the FYIN crew. When the call went out, David Dimmer, a veteran pilot, didn't hesitate to sign up. He recruited a few members of his family (and the family dog!) and worked with ground volunteers to load his plane with canned goods and other items. This event distributed several thousand pounds of food via VFW posts throughout the state, including some areas that are difficult to reach via ground transportation.

At FYIN, people are at the heart of everything we do, and having the opportunity to support veterans and families, particularly during the holidays, is truly an honor.

Happy holidays from the FYIN team!
